Freedom to serve,freedom to marry

Freedom to Serve, Freedom to Marry (with more videos) | Freedom to Marry

"Dear Milena,
This is our story.
It's a story of love, of family - and of fighting for what we believe in.
My wife Charlie is in the New Hampshire National Guard and has served our country in uniform for the better part of two decades.
In 2008, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy and several rounds of chemotherapy to save her life.
Then, In 2010 - declared cancer free by her oncologist - she was deployed to Kuwait for one year in support of Operation New Dawn.
She fulfilled her duty with pride and returned home to our then four-year-old daughter, Casey Elena, and me.
But last September, we learned the awful truth that her cancer has returned.  It is metastatic and incurable.  In short, we don't know how long she has.  And unfortunately, if she doesn't survive her brave battle with cancer, our family will not receive the survivors' benefits that we have earned - and would receive if the military were permitted to recognize our loving and committed marriage.
We hope you'll watch this video, sign the petition, and join our fight for full equality.
Sincerely,     Karen Morgan New Hampshire "
